Portrait of Prince

One day not long ago I received a phone call from my friend Liz asking if I could paint a portrait of Prince for her. "Of course", I said. Then I thought how fun it would be to do this since I do love his music and persona, and he is a very iconic figure that would make for a great painting. So Liz and I got to work looking at the hundreds of images of Prince and narrowing it down to a few to seriously explore. We then narrowed it to a photograph that BLITZ magazine (Portugal) used on the cover of their July 2010 issue. Next I sketched out this portrait as a process I often do that allows me to work out artistic details before I actually put paint down. And since red is Liz’s favorite color this image was even more powerful and personal. Thank you Liz for giving me the opportunity to create something that now has so much meaning in your life.

Well written and easy to digest, which is honestly rare for a topic like this one. The way you sequenced the steps makes it far less intimidating to actually get started. Some extra examples and notes live over at https://orezenyoga.com/art/uncx_s_bnb_chain_lp_locker_still_showing_fresh_activity_is_a_quiet_proof_of_life_signal.html if you'd like to keep exploring.

This is the kind of post I end up bookmarking and forwarding to a couple of people. That section on common pitfalls alone is worth the time it took to read the whole thing. If this was useful, there's a decent chance you'll get something out of bonzofinance.net too.
