Over a year ago I met Drake & Kelly at an art exhibit in Park City, USA that I was part of. Drake loved my style of art enough to entertain having me paint a portrait of his wife Kelly. So before they left town I was able to photograph her in enough variety to have something to work with. During the process, Drake wanted to have me include the Eiffel Tower in the painting somehow, but not be too dominant, as they were both born in towns called Paris in America. I came up with several approaches, did the normal back-and-forth, and began painting this late last year in time for a surprise gift for the holidays. Always rewarding for me to get a note from them telling me how much they liked it.
